Walls of Resistance
“We do not use the things of this world in our fighting, but we use the power of God. This power can break down the walls where the enemy hides (2 Corinthians 10:4, Worldwide English, New Testament).
Resistance — it is a force of opposition. Resistance is anything that opposes or stands in the way of forward motion. Resistance is indeed the true adversary of progression.
Anything in our lives that weakens our will, diminishes our determination, and stands in the way of our capability to rise above, to fulfill a purpose, or to simply move ahead is a source of resistance — relentlessly working to oppose our efforts. Resistance can present itself in many different forms and capacities, whether internal (within ourselves) or external (outside of ourselves). And sometimes, the resistance in our lives can be as difficult to detect as it often is to overcome — it is one invisible enemy that we all need to be vigilantly prepared for.
During my adolescent years, I was blatantly told by the person entrusted with my care that I was a “bad seed.” The words hit my psyche like a ton of bricks.
